Privacy notice

This notice explains what personal data we collect through solartuscany.com, why, who helps us process it, and the rights you have. We keep it short and plain. If anything is unclear, write to us.

Who we are

Solar Hospitality is a project in preparation; no company has been formed yet. Until it is, the people responsible for your data (the controllers) are its founders, Lygia Cerski and Alexander Frey. Contact: alex@solartuscany.com. When the company is formed, it will take over this role and we will update this notice.

What we collect and why

When you join the diary. Your email address, first and last name, the page where you signed up, the lists you chose, and the wording and time of your consent. We use them to confirm your email, send you new diary entries (no more than once a month) and let you read the full diary. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email.

When you ask for access to the investor portal. Your name, email address, how you know us and your message. We use them to reply to you and, if appropriate, invite you. Legal basis: steps you asked us to take before a possible agreement, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.

When you use the investor portal. Your name, email address, your password (stored only in scrambled form, never readable), your access level, and which pages of the portal you open and when. We use them to give you access, keep the portal secure, send you our letters and know when to follow up. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a private investor portal and keeping you informed, and steps before a possible agreement.

When you write to us. Whatever you include in your email, to answer you.

We do not sell your data, do not use it for advertising, and do not use analytics or tracking cookies.

Cookies

We only use cookies the site needs to work:

  • – solar_diary remembers that you have joined the diary, so entries open for you (one year).
  • – solar_inv keeps you signed in to the investor portal (30 days).

In the investor portal, some property clips play from Vimeo, which may set its own cookies when you play a clip.

Who helps us

We use a few service providers who process data on our behalf, under data processing agreements:

  • – Vercel (website hosting; servers in the EU and the USA)
  • – Supabase (our database; EU)
  • – Resend (sending our emails; EU)
  • – Beehiiv (our diary mailing list; USA)
  • – Sanity (where we write the diary and letters; holds no visitor data)
  • – Vimeo (video clips in the investor portal; USA)

Where data goes to the USA, it is protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Diary data until you unsubscribe, then we delete it within 30 days (we keep only a record that you unsubscribed, so we never write again). Investor portal data for as long as you have access and up to three years after, unless you become an investor, in which case longer periods required by law apply. Enquiries for up to two years.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. You can withdraw consent at any time. Write to alex@solartuscany.com; we answer within a month. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali in Italy or the authority where you live.

Changes

If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
